Categories: University Campus

We are pleased to announce that the University has risen ten places to rank 88th in the influential The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023.

Last year Salford was ranked 98th out of 132 institutions. This year as well as improving nationally we have also fared well in the regional rankings, rising to 8th place in the North West, above the University of Chester and University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) as well as Bolton and Cumbria.

And this year, Salford ranked higher in National Student Survey statistics than the University of Manchester in both student experience and teaching quality, as well as being above the University of Liverpool for teaching quality, with a score of 73.6%.

Salford is also ranked above Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) in the graduate prospects table with 71.4% of our graduates in graduate level roles or further education, compared with 67.9% for MMU.

The major academic league table is made up of eight indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, and degree completion rates.

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023 league table is available to subscribers and a free 96-page supplement will be published this weekend in The Sunday Times (18 September).
