USIR - University of Salford Institutional Repository
USIR has moved to a new platform and you can now deposit your research via Worktribe once you have completed the mandatory training and been given access to the system. Instructions and more information can be found on the Academic Profiles and Research Information System (APRIS) staff hub pages and the Doctoral School hub pages.
If you have any questions or would like support, you can get in touch with us at library-research@salford.ac.uk.
The University of Salford Institutional Repository (USIR) is a store of all research outputs produced by University of Salford staff and postgraduate researchers. All staff and postgraduate researchers should place their research outputs in USIR. Many of the research outputs stored in USIR are freely available to download.
You can use the search function in USIR to search for research, or if you are a student or staff member at the University you can find research in USIR through Library Search.
Depositing research into USIR
Depositing research outputs into USIR is a quick and easy process. You can either input the information about your research output yourself, or, if your research output has already been published and you have a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for it, you can save time by using this to import some information straight into USIR.
The University of Salford Open Access Policy, requires that articles and conference contributions in conference proceedings with an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) must be deposited into USIR at the point of acceptance for publication, and no later than three months after that date. For support with open access and depositing in USIR email Library-research@salford.ac.uk.
USIR Deposit Agreement
The University of Salford Institutional Repository (USIR) supports the long term preservation of, and free access to, research material produced by members of the University of Salford. To undertake this role, USIR staff need permission to store, copy and manipulate the material held in USIR in order to ensure that it can be preserved and made available in the future.
This Deposit Agreement is designed to give USIR administrators the right to do this and to confirm that the depositor has the right to submit the material to USIR. The Agreement is non-exclusive, and the depositor does not give away any of their rights to USIR.
