Former Salford student becomes first female president of Slovenia
Nataša Pirc Musar, 54, was elected with almost 54% of the vote in the country's presidential election in November 2022.
The journalist and lawyer had notably been previously hired by the former US First Lady Melania Trump during the former President Donald Trump’s presidency and ran as an independent candidate with the backing of Slovenia’s centre-left government.
She studied for two semesters from 1995 to 1996 as a Phare and Tacis fellow. Ms Pirc Musar previously discussed her studies with the Serbian Telegraf in 2017.
