We created Salford Global Week so you can develop the skills needed for an international market and learn more about cross-cultural opportunities. It also gives you the chance to celebrate the rich diversity of cultures in our student community. Salford Global Week 2023
Events and workshops took place on 9, 10 and 11 May 2023 that helped attendees to grow their global mindset, develop key employability skills and connect with different cultures right here in Salford (and online). Events and workshops included:
- What international employers are looking for
- International personal branding
- Salford Languages taster sessions
- Salford Global Week Cultural Festival including dancing, fashion, henna and calligraphy demonstrations

Traditional dances
Groups of students performed traditional dances from cultures across the world.
Calligraphy demonstrations
We learned about calligraphy, a tradition that embodies important aspects of China's intellectual and artistic heritage.
Henna art
Students and staff members received henna tattoos, a tradition mainly used in celebration of special occasions such as weddings and birthdays.
