This module is designed to enable the learner to have the appropriate skills and knowledge to work at Level 4 of the intercollegiate frameworks for safeguarding.
All about the course
The module supports advanced knowledge and skills in safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults, enabling you to apply them effectively to complex and challenging situations within your specialist area of practice.
You will be supported to demonstrate how to apply knowledge and skills to evaluate current practices, including critical analysis and reflection of national and local policies. You will also be able to critically analyse the obstacles and motivators influencing effective safeguarding practices.
You will develop skills to assess contemporary research related to safeguarding across multidisciplinary teams, including looking at service gaps and taking a leadership role in enhancing safeguarding practices.
You will be provided the opportunity to utilise this acquired knowledge and skills to actively support fellow professionals in improving safeguarding policies through supervision, reflection and peer review.
Please note that it may not be possible to deliver the full list of options every year as this will depend on factors such as how many students choose a particular option. Exact modules may also vary in order to keep content current. When accepting your offer of a place to study on this programme, you should be aware that not all optional modules will be running each year. Your tutor will be able to advise you as to the available options on or before the start of the programme. Whilst the University tries to ensure that you are able to undertake your preferred options, it cannot guarantee this.
What about after uni?
Completion of this module will provide you with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in training and education, enabling you to apply this to your practice.
