Future careers

It is anticipated that this module will prepare healthcare professionals to further develop their knowledge in order to engage as members of the inflammatory bowel multidisciplinary team and nurses for practice at specialist nurse level whether the nurse is looking for a specialist nurse post or is seeking a specialist nurse role in the near future.

Career Links

We work with over 100 health and social care organisations so our links with industry are very strong. These relationships will be of direct benefit to you because our academic team work in practice in some of these organisations at a senior level so are able to keep you at the forefront of developments in the sector which in turn help you provide a better service.

Modules

On successful completion of this module you will be able to:

  • Critically analyse developments in the practice and treatment available for inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Identify and critically analyse your role in IBD and approaches to the education and counselling of patients.

Please note that exact modules and content offered may vary in order to keep content current and, for courses that offer optional modules, may depend on the number of students selecting particular options. When accepting your offer of a place to study on a programme with optional modules, you should be aware that optional modules may not all run each year. Your tutor will be able to advise you as to the available options on or before the start of the programme. Whilst the University tries to ensure that you can undertake your preferred options, it cannot guarantee this.
