How to prepare and submit your portfolio
If you’re applying for a course in one of the subject areas listed below, you’ll need to submit an online portfolio or audition as part of your application. The type of submission depends on the course you’ve chosen.
When we say portfolio, we don’t just mean finished pieces. We’re also interested in seeing your ideas, early sketches, experiments, and how you develop your thinking.
To help you, we’ve created course‑specific guidance and a set of helpful FAQs to support you through the next steps of your application.
What is a portfolio?
A portfolio is a curated collection of art or design pieces that showcase your best work. Each candidate’s portfolio becomes a reflective document, which describes not only the projects it contains, but also the thought process that has contributed to each project.
Why we ask for a portfolio
A portfolio helps us understand how you think, create and develop ideas. It is not just about finished work. We are interested in your process, experimentation and creative potential.
Which courses require a portfolio?
Some courses may ask you to submit a portfolio as part of your application.
If your chosen course needs one, you’ll be prompted to upload it during the application process. We’ll give you clear instructions on what to include and how to upload your work, either through the Applicant Portal or by email, depending on the course.
If your course doesn’t ask for a portfolio, you don’t need to prepare or upload anything extra.
