Agent Application Guide
If you are one of our agent partners, you can find information about how to apply to our courses below. You can submit applications either through the Salford Agent Portal or via UCAS, depending on the course.
Which application route should I use?
Use the Agent Portal for:
- All postgraduate (Master’s) courses
- International Foundation Year
- Pre-sessional English
Use UCAS for:
- Undergraduate courses not available in the Agent Portal (see the above list)
Always check course availability before starting an application.
Direct Application: The Agent Portal
The Agent Portal is a dedicated application and management system for agent partners. It enables:
- Faster application processing
- Clear visibility of decisions
- Easy follow-up with Admissions
- Automatic linking of applications to your agency for tracking and reporting
The portal is designed to be flexible and support different agency workflows.
How to Apply using the Agent Portal
- Register/log in to the University of Salford Agent Portal
- Create an applicant profile and enter personal details
- Search for and select the chosen course
- Complete the application form, ensuring education history is accurate and complete
- Upload all required documents
- Submit the application
You can apply for more than one course at a time.
If additional information is required, the Admissions team will contact you by email with details of any outstanding documents to upload.

Academic Documents
- Certificates and full transcripts (for completed qualifications)
- Details of any pending qualifications
Supporting Documents
- Personal statement
- Reference
English Language
- Valid English qualification (certificate or pending details)
Identity & Immigration
- Passport
- Copies of previous visas, refusals, or residency permits (if applicable)
Additional (if applicable)
- CV
- Professional qualifications or memberships
- Academic and employment history
Applying to Undergraduate Courses using UCAS
If the undergraduate course is not available for direct application using our Agent Portal, then you must apply through UCAS using the steps below:
Register with UCAS
- Create an account via UCAS
Complete the Application. Fill in all required sections, including:
- Personal details
- Education history
Select Course Choices
- Search and choose courses using the UCAS Course Search tool.
Submit the Application
- Complete the declaration to allow UCAS to send the application to chosen universities.
Application Review
- The University of Salford will process applications as quickly as possible.
- If additional information is needed, the Admissions team will contact the applicant by email.
Receive a Decision
- Updates will appear in UCAS Track.
- Applicants can download:
A conditional offer letter (if applicable) via UCAS Track
A separate confirmation letter from Admissions
Respond to Offers
- Applicants must reply to their offers by the UCAS deadline.
Meet Offer Conditions
- Students must meet all conditions by the specified deadline to receive an unconditional offer.
- CAS processes (for international students) begin only for the Firm choice course.
Important UCAS Notes
- Applicants can only submit one application per cycle
- A new application is required for any future cycle
- UCAS charges an application fee (subject to change)
- UCAS sends deadline reminders — missing a deadline may result in automatic decline
- Applications can only be deferred once, and only if the offer is unconditional
- All conditions must be met within the application cycle
Application processing
We aim to process applications as quickly as possible. Processing times may vary depending on the course and completeness of the application.
Submitting complete and accurate information helps avoid delays.
Offer making and next steps
Applicants must:
- Notify Admissions of any changes to personal details
- Accept, decline, defer, or withdraw offers (once they have access to the Applicant Portal)
- Meet all offer conditions as soon as possible, well in advance of the CAS deadline. Find information about English language requirements and Equivalent qualifications from your country or region.
Deferrals to a different intake
- Up to twice within the same academic year
- Or once to the following academic year
Scholarships
- Automatically applied scholarships will be included in the offer letter
- Some require a separate application – see scholarships for more information
CAS & Visa
- CAS will only be issued once all conditions are met
- This applies to the course selected as the applicant’s firm choice
