UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD AWARDED OVER £3 MILLION FROM RESEARCH ENGLAND
The University’s North of England Robotics Innovation Centre (NERIC) has been awarded £3.6 million Research England Development (RED) funding from Research England, part of UK Research and Innovation, in a bid to accelerate innovation and research in the fast-moving world of robotics.
UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD LAUNCHES A WOMEN IN ENGINEERING MENTOR PROGRAMME WITH KEY INDUSTRY SUPPORT
The University of Salford has launched a pilot mentoring scheme for female engineering students as part of the Morson Maker Space STEM initiative. Encouraging females to enter roles that have been traditionally dominated by males is pivotal to addressing diversity imbalances, and ‘Go Beyond’ is a new programme that will help students confidently step into this sector.
BIOMEDICINE APPRENTICE RECOGNISED BY THE UNIVERSITY
Each year as part of the National Apprenticeship Celebrations, the University of Salford awards individuals from its different schools with the accolade of Apprentice of the Year. This year’s winner from the School of Science, Engineering and Environment is Biomedical Science Apprentice Degree (Healthcare Science Practitioner) student Christine Egerton.
