What made you want to pursue a programme in this area?

I want to be a Data Analyst in the future and the second year of this programme really interested me as it covers data analysis in a business. 

Why did you choose to study this Level 5 Institute of Technology programme as opposed to a traditional degree?

I chose the course based on the modules rather than the level of study. I was drawn to the modules which linked data science to business processes and performance. I also like the fact that the programme is shorter and less of a commitment cost-wise wise which gives me a more flexible, quicker, way of gaining a qualification in Data Science.

What does your programme involve?

My modules are really varied and give me a good grounding and broad understanding of many aspects of data science. We cover things such as coding, data analysis, machine learning, business intelligence as well as covering artificial intelligence and digital leadership and management in the second year. 

How have you found your programme so far?

I have really enjoyed the programme so far and feel I have learnt so much already!

What are your plans following completion of the programme?

I’d love to work for IBM in the future and may take up the opportunity to undertake the top-up option to gain the full degree in data science. 

What would you say to someone considering studying this programme?

The programme is beginner-friendly friendly so don’t worry if you are new to data science. The teaching staff are brilliant and really supportive so don’t panic if you feel overwhelmed at the start, you soon get into the swing of it. If you like coding, then you should do this course!
