Television and Radio Production Awards 2026

Celebrating our students

Students from the University of Salford's BA Television and Radio Production programme gathered at MediaCity on 9 June 2026 to celebrate another outstanding year of creative achievement at the annual BAFTARS Awards.

The BAFTARS are a student-led awards ceremony that celebrates excellence in television, radio and audio production across all levels of the programme. The event is organised and produced by students and provides a showcase of the creativity, professionalism and technical skills developed throughout their studies. Industry professionals join staff and students to recognise the exceptional work produced during the academic year.

This year's ceremony highlighted the breadth of talent across the programme, from cinematography, editing and documentary production to audio storytelling, studio production and academic achievement. Students were recognised not only for the quality of their work but also for their professionalism, innovation and commitment to their craft.

Awards were judged by a panel of respected industry professionals, including Owen Rowlands, Head of Cameras at ITV's Emmerdale; Anna Scott-Brown of Overtone Productions; David Prest, Managing Director of Whistledown Productions; Sean Healey, freelance drama director; Jonathan Halliwell from BBC Radio; and Peter Gwyn, former ITV Studios Executive Producer whose credits include Countdown, Stars in Their Eyes and University Challenge.
