Keeley Banton
Keeley Banton, She/Her, MA Literature and Culture, is nominated for the Civic Engagement Award at the Create Student Awards 2025.
“I am delighted to be shortlisted as a finalist in the Create Student Awards! It was so lovely to be nominated and completely unexpected. As a mature student, I was determined to embrace all aspects of life as a student at the University of Salford and have loved every minute of my time here.
The key highlights of my MA course have been getting to know my wonderful course mates and collaborating with peers, lecturers and outside professionals in events such as TEDxUoS, The Northern Publishers Fair and sessions with Southern Voices. I have gained invaluable skills during this year which I will fully utilise as I continue to work with Southern Voices, and hopefully develop my academic work around the Mixed Race experience and women’s literature.
