Jacob Lahera
Jacob Lahera, He/Him, BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology, is nominated for the Engagement with Industry Award at the Create Student Awards 2025.
“I am honoured to be nominated for the Create Award, as it reinforces my belief that I am on the right path. Studying at the University of Salford over the past three years has been the best decision of my professional journey. The course has been incredible, with tremendous support from the staff. I never have to look far to find the help I need.
The opportunities provided by the University of Salford and its staff have been remarkable. From their valuable connection to LowFour Studio to introductions at 80 Hertz Studios, I have had the chance to work with artists and organisations such as Take That, Idles, Netflix and the Hallé Orchestra as well as collaborate with BAFTA award-winning screenwriters on film projects and gain experience at music festivals. I have learned that embracing every opportunity that comes my way is an excellent strategy for staying engaged, building valuable connections, and gaining enriching experiences. The University of Salford offers numerous possibilities for industry experience; all it takes is a keen eye and a willingness to say ‘Yes!’
Moving forward, I aim to continue building experience and having fun whilst working in the industry and studying for an MA at the University of Salford.”
