Meet Haneen Hassan - MSc Digital Marketing
Hassan did a three month internship as part of her Digital Marketing programme. Here she tells us about her experience and what she learnt from it.
WHERE DID YOU DO YOUR INTERNSHIP?
I completed a Digital Marketing placement at Groundwork MSTT, a Manchester-based charity that uses ecological projects to change people’s lives.
WHAT DID IT INVOLVE?
The Business School made the application process really simple! I was able to work with the team to find opportunities I was interested in and sent my CV over to the Student Hub. Once I started my presentation, I was given lots of responsibility and my main focus was improving the company’s online presence.
WHAT DID YOU ENJOY THE MOST?
A really interesting aspect of the role was using social media to build awareness and learning more about SEO.
HOW WILL IT BENEFIT YOU IN THE FUTURE?
This experience was invaluable to my course and to my future. It was a great opportunity for me to gain insight into the type of career I want and to understand the application of the modules I have studied.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM THE EXPERIENCE?
The role linked really well to my course so I was able to learn a lot. I was working on the marketing project independently so was able to learn a great deal, take on a lot of responsibility and develop my skills.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND A PLACEMENT TO OTHER STUDENTS?
I would definitely recommend choosing a placement to other students. Take advantage of being able to put your knowledge into practice, meet new people and enhance your CV.
