Helen McHugh, Founder & Director of Marsden Strategy
With over 20 years’ experience working in Westminster politics and across the business, tech and net zero eco systems, Helen brings extensive experience in building strategic relationships to drive positive outcomes, enhance reputational standing, support commercial growth and deliver meaningful impact.
Before establishing Marsden Strategy, she was Head of Engagement and CSR at TalkTalk, where she transformed the company’s reputation as a leading tech employer in the North West, alongside spearheading innovative campaigns to champion women in tech.
Her career in Westminster spanned over 15 years. As Head of Business Relations for the national Labour Party, she worked with C-suite leaders, FTSE 100 companies, and global multinationals, designing engagement strategies that continue to leave a legacy.
Her tenure at London & Partners saw her overhaul corporate relations and lead a consumer confidence campaign post-pandemic, backed by the Mayor of London and UK Government.
Helen’s passion for connecting people and strengthening communities extends into her voluntary work. She serves on the University of Salford Business School Industry Advisory Board, is a member of the North West Tech Talent Consortium, a Philanthropy Champion for Orchestras For All and a Director and Trustee of the City of Sheffield Youth Orchestra. She also actively supports charities dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls.
Helen holds a BA in European Studies from the University of Leicester and speaks fluent high and Austrian German.
