Professor of Health and Social Policy Inequalities
Biography
Professor Michelle Cornes joined the University of Salford in September 2022. Her research interests are in the field of homelessness and inclusion health and social care. She is currently leading the national evaluation of the Department of Health and Social Care’s out-of-hospital care programme for people who are homeless. She is Chief Investigator of a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) project looking at strengthening adult safeguarding responses to homelessness and self-neglect. She is a Senior Fellow of the NIHR School for Social Care Research and Visiting Professor at the Policy Unit at King’s College London. Michelle has a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Integrated Care.
