Biography

Jacqueline is a registered general nurse (previously SRN) since 1980. She trained at Guy's Hospital London from 1977-1980 and has worked in Berlin as a locally employed civilian for the British Army. She has been a staff nurse in London both at Guy's Hospital and also at the Westminster Hospital. She was a Ward sister and Night Sister in a private hospital in West Sussex and left clinical practice in 1999.

During the last 6 years of clinical work she gained a DPSN, a BSc (Hons) and an MA in Health Professional Education which is a recordable teaching qualification for the Nursing and Midwifery Council. After achieving her MA in 1998 she then went on to start her academic career full time in 1999.

As an academic Jacqueline has worked at the Unversities of Surrey, Nicosia (Cyprus), Bedfordshire and moved to Salford in 2021.

Whilst in Cyprus Jacqueline proposed and set up the first simulation suite in the country and supported validations for franchise courses in physiotherapy and medicine.

With a wide range of experience in higher educationJacqueline has worked on national projects for simulation, enjoyed teaching and learning in Leadership and management, been programme lead for a successful Return to Practice Programme and undertaken a lead role for apprenticeships in nursing and nursing associate programmes.

With the move to Salford her focus now is on Quality Assurance and Enhancement for all programmes that run within the Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery. This includes supporting teams preparing for validations by the NMC and also working with teams looking to accredit their othe programmes.

Her hobbies are also varied but include her love of food and, in particular, baking.
