Biography

Mr Gandhi Inturi, MSN (Research & Education), BScN, RN

Lecturer in Adult Nursing | Admissions Tutor | Ethics Committee Member

Registered Nurse – 20 Years Clinical Practice

I am a Registered Nurse with 20 years of continuous clinical experience, and I remain actively practicing within Emergency Departments, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and Urgent Treatment Centre's across the NHS. My professional identity is firmly rooted in acute and emergency nursing, where rapid clinical judgement, patient safety, and ethical decision-making are paramount. Maintaining frontline practice ensures that my academic work is grounded in contemporary clinical realities.

Alongside my clinical role, I serve as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing and Admissions Tutor at the University of Salford. I currently teach Year 1 BSc Adult Nursing students and BSc Nursing Studies (Top-Up) international students, integrating simulation-based education, structured clinical reasoning, and evidence-informed teaching into my modules. I am also a member of the School Ethics Committee, contributing to ethical governance and research integrity within higher education.

My academic preparation includes an MSc in Nursing (Research & Education), a PGCert in Health Care Ethics from the University of Manchester, a PGCert in Clinical Education from the University of Edinburgh, and a PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Clinical Practice from Edge Hill University. These qualifications underpin my commitment to advancing nursing education through scholarly and ethical frameworks.

Beyond the university setting, I have worked with private healthcare organizations delivering Immediate Life Support (ILS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) programmes aligned with Resuscitation Council UK standards. I am also an AIMS (Acute Illness Management) course instructor, supporting multidisciplinary teams in recognizing and managing clinical deterioration.

Research Focus

My research is centered on strengthening the experience and professional integration of internationally educated nurses within UK higher education and clinical practice. Specifically, I focus on the transition experiences of international nursing students, communication challenges encountered in academic and clinical environments, accent perception and accent modification strategies, men in nursing, simulation-based education, and healthcare ethics. My work seeks to bridge linguistic equity, professional standards, and patient safety, ensuring that internationally trained nurses are supported to thrive within the UK healthcare system while upholding the highest standards of care.

My career integrates frontline emergency nursing, higher education leadership, resuscitation training, and research-driven innovation. I remain committed to advancing nursing practice, strengthening international student success, and contributing meaningfully to ethical and evidence-based healthcare systems.
