Biography

My broadcast career spanned three decades, working in both radio and TV. I started as a radio broadcast journalist in New Zealand before starting travels and ‘getting stuck’ in the UK. I have experience in drama and documentary-making for TV alongside studio producing and programme development.

My range of output ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous: from ITV’s religious output to building a studio around a working abattoir; from chasing tornadoes to tracking urban foxes; creating BBC current affairs content for The One Show to Exec Producing Jeremy Kyle in the studio; with many other entertaining diversions along the way, including Producing and Directing on This Morning.

I have Produced/Directed, Series Produced and Executive Produced across the TV genres in both Prime Time and Daytime: Current Affairs, Consumer, Factual Entertainment, Documentaries, Talk Shows, History, Science and Religion - for ITV1, BBC1 & 3, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Discovery USA.

I arrived at Salford Uni as an HPA in 2012, and have miraculously found myself as Director via Lecturing, Module Leading, Programme Leading and Senior Lecturing.
