Biography
I have been a Registered Adult Nurse since graduating from the University of Leeds in 2010.
Since qualifying I have worked as a Staff Nurse on a critical care unit for six years before moving into operating theatres as a Theatre Practitioner.
In 2019 I was employed as a Senior Specialist Theatre Practitioner and Team Leader for Anaesthetics & Recovery.
In 2020 I made the switch to academia and began my career teaching Trainee Nurse Associates at the University of Bolton before moving into the Operating Department Practice progamme in September 2021.
In October 2023 I joined the University of Salford as a Clinical Simulation & Skills Teacher and more recently as a Teaching & Learning Fellow in Adult Nursing.
Since working in academia I have held the position of module leader and tutor in the following areas:
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Caring for the surgical patient
- Infection Prevention & Control
- Clinical Governance
- Assessing & Managing the deteriorating patient
