Biography

Adam Sundh is a Sport Scientist at the Chicago Bears Football Club and a Postgraduate Researcher in the Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering & Human Movement Sciences program at the University of Salford. He has extensive experience across applied sporting environments, including elite American Football, where he currently serves as a Sport Scientist, as well as collegiate Basketball and Lacrosse, where he previously served as a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Adam is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), the Professional Football Performance Coaches Association (PFPCA), and the United States of America Weightlifting Association (USAW). He is also a Certified Performance and Sport Scientist in which he has recertified with Distinction (CPSS*D), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in which he has recertified with Distinction (CSCS*D), and a recognized Level-2 Weighlifting Coach (USAW-2).

Adam is a reviewer for the Journal of Strength and Conditioning and has co-authored peer-reviewed articles in international journals. He has presented at a variety of national and international conferences, sharing original research as well as lecture-style presentations

Areas of Research

Adam's research interests include all areas of Applied Sport Science and Strength & Conditioning. More specifically, he is interested in research that drives the applied setting forward, with direct implications for practitioners in high-performance sporting environments. This includes the use of performance monitoring tools, sports performance research, and training interventions. To support future studies, Adam has also investigated the assessment of force production characteristics across a variety of isometric and dynamic tasks, focusing on test standardization to enhance reliability and reduce measurement error, as well as exploring non-conventional resistance training methods, such as accentuated eccentric loading to improve sport performance.
