The University of Salford has signed a Shared Goals Agreement with Microsoft which aims to equip students with the digital skills that employers are looking for. This follows Microsoft’s annoucement last year which kicked off the initiative.
Students will benefit from courses focused on areas such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence and data science, while also having access to LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft’s AI Business School and technology learning courses, GitHub and industry certifications. It will also allow students to build critical non-technical skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.
Mike Brown, Director of Strategic Partnerships at the University of Salford, said:

“The Shared Goals Agreement with Microsoft provides a framework that enables the University to give students access to the latest digital tools, gain valuable experience, and industry-recognised certifications to help them succeed in their future careers.
