Add Library Access

Laptop work

Library Access is a browser extension, or add-on, available for Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari.

Why is Library Access useful?

Library Access makes it simpler to access articles, journals and databases, particularly when you are studying off campus. It detects when you are on a website the Library provides content on, and prompts you to log in.

If you visit a site which the Library doesn’t provide access to, Library Access may suggest an alternative route, including Open Access content.

It also automatically adds ‘Findit@Salford’ links to results in Google Scholar.

How to install Library Access

Library Access is easy to install - use the install button above and follow the instructions to add it to your browser.

Once installed select “University of Salford” and Library Access automatically pops up when you are on a site the Library has a subscription for or alerts you to alternative content.

Please check that you have the latest version of the browser – Library Access may not work if the browser is not up to date.
