ICETEX Scholarships

As part of our Memorandum of Understanding with ICETEX, we are proud to co-ordinate ICETEX Scholarships for students from Colombia wishing to study on a range of postgraduate Master’s Degree programmes at the University of Salford. For students applying to begin studying in September 2025, the following ICETEX Scholarships are available:

1 x fully-funded scholarship (tuition fee only).

10 x part-funded scholarships worth £5,000 each.

Scholarship recipients must have funds available for any remaining tuition fee and living costs associated with studying at the University of Salford in the UK. You can browse the list of applicable Salford programmes.

Scholarship details

All ICETEX Scholarships at Salford are awarded as reductions on tuition fees. Please note that no ICETEX Scholarships include financial awards for accommodation and/or other living costs, so students must be able to cover these expenses themselves.

Currently, the UK Government requires international students applying for a visa to study here to be able to demonstrate that they have at least £10,224 to cover their living costs whilst studying at any university outside London for one academic year. You will be required to show this with a bank statement confirming that these funds have been in your account for at least 28 days when you apply for your UK student visa.

Applicants must be of Colombian nationality.

How to apply

ICETEX runs a competitive selection process and pre-selects candidates. The University of Salford then makes the final decisions on the award of scholarships, based on the shortlist provided by ICETEX and the agreed criteria.

Decisions on admission to the University of Salford are made solely by the University of Salford.

If you wish to apply for an ICETEX scholarship, you must first secure an offer from the University of Salford, and meet all the non-financial conditions of this offer. You should complete an application for the programme you wish you study using our online direct application system. To do this, simply go to the web page for your programme of choice and click on the button marked APPLY, which may be found near the top right of the page. You can find full, step-by-step guidance on this process, along with supporting resources and tools, in the interactive QualiHub portal provided by QualiFly®.

Once you have secured your offer and taken part in the ICETEX call, you will also be asked to complete a short scholarship application via QualiHub, which includes two key reflective questions used in the final scholarship selection process.

You must complete all the actions by the specified deadlines.
