Summer Graduation Venue

The Summer Graduation Ceremonies take place at the Lowry, however we ask that on arrival you check-in at our MediaCity building which is just a short 5 minute walk away. 

Your summer graduation ceremony will take place at:

On the day of your ceremony all graduates need to check in at:

Travel Disruption

During Summer Graduation there will be multiple travel disruption which may affect your journey. Please ensure you allow for extra time when planning your travel.

Road Closure

The Quays road is fully closed at the junction of Furness Quay during Graduation week. This means that there will only be one route to get to the Lowry theatre and car park. This is is likely to lead to delays and congestion at peak times. Find out more about road closures.

Tram Upgrades

During Graduation week, no trams will operate on the Eccles, Trafford Centre and Altrincham lines. Please find further details of travel disruptions

There will be a replacement bus service running instead of the trams during the disruption, which operates every 15 minutes between 6:00 and to 20:00. Be aware that these can get very busy at peak times, so please plan your journey in advance and leave yourself plenty of time to get to and from MediaCity.

Arriving by tram

Please be aware that, during Graduation week, no trams will operate on the Eccles, Trafford Centre and Altrincham lines, Replacement buses will operate between the affected stops. Please find details of travel disruptions

The Lowry is located in MediaCity, which has its own tram stop. The theatre is just a 5-minute walk from this stop, which has connections to Manchester City Centre. The University of Salford's MediaCity Campus is also a 5-minute walk from the tram stop.

Arriving by car

Lowry is a three mile drive from Manchester City Centre, ten mile drive from Manchester Airport, and a quarter of a mile from the motorway network.

From the M60 take junction 12 for the M602. Salford Quays is a quarter of a mile from junction 3 of the M602. Follow the brown Lowry signs.

Secure parking is available in the Quayside MediaCity multi-storey car park, which also has designated areas for disabled people on each level.

MediaCity does not have a train station. However, if you are arriving into Greater Manchester via train, you can use the Bee Network's Journey Planner to help plan your onward travel.
