New Adelphi Enrichment Activity - How to Survive

The New Adelphi How to Survive programme is a series of enrichment activities for students and alumni from the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology.

Improving the employability and future opportunities of our students is a key priority for the University and we understand the importance of providing our current students with a feel for the creative industry whilst supporting our graduates as they discover new ways to continue their practice.

Through the programme, alumni working in areas such as TV, film, dance, comedy, set design, and visual arts have presented a range of virtual talks, workshops, and demonstrations for our students, exploring the ways in which artists can survive through a pandemic.

Dance students also had the opportunity to work with HawkDance to produce an online performance, uniting students and graduates to learn and create art in an otherwise difficult time.

To further their work, How to Survive were invited by HOME Manchester to run ‘HOMEGround Takeover’, an extraordinary event where our students and graduates worked alongside professionals at HOME to produce and perform at an outdoor, public festival. This was also an opportunity for the team to develop their skills in Covid-19 health and safety and budgeting.
