What will happen at the Open Day?
By coming to an Open Day you’ll get a real sense of what studying at the University of Salford is like. You’ll get to take part in course talks, Q&As with students, go on campus tours and more. You'll also get to see accommodation, meet teaching and support staff, find out how to fund your studies, and learn about settling into student life.
Our Open Days take place across our three campuses in Salford, giving you the chance to explore our facilities in person, while getting a real feel for what student life can offer.
We're proud of our campus and during Open Days, a host of student ambassadors will lead tours throughout the day. But if you just can't wait until then, check out the video below to take a quick look around.
Prepare for your future
A degree from the University of Salford is more than just a certificate – we’ll help you to graduate with confidence, ready to step into your chosen career.
We form strong partnerships with businesses and organisations from all sectors, working hand-in-hand to develop courses that are relevant to today’s challenges.
Our lecturers are professionals in their fields, with many actively engaging with industry to continuously update their knowledge and inform your teaching.
In today’s competitive job market, it’s important to stand out. Whether you’re clear on your career path or you’re just starting to explore your options, we’ll help you identify where you want to be, then support and inspire you to get there.
From industry placements to employment opportunities, and guest speakers to practical, hands-on workshops and lectures, we’ll help you develop the skills you need to succeed on your course and in your career.
There are many things that make us unique, but our location is one of the things that really sets us apart.
We're based in the vibrant and diverse city of Salford, in the heart of England’s north west – right next to our neighbour, Manchester.
Our main campus, Peel Park, offers the best of both worlds: state-of-the-art learning facilities set against beautiful green space, within twenty minutes’ walk of the centre of Manchester. We’re also the only university with a campus at MediaCity. Its stunning waterfront location at Salford Quays is also home to TV, digital and creative organisations like the BBC and ITV.
When lectures finish, you don’t need to look hard to find exciting culture, sport, shopping, food and nightlife experiences right on your doorstep here in Salford. And when you’re ready to explore Manchester, getting there couldn’t be easier – it’s just a short trip by foot or on public transport, with Salford Crescent station at the heart of our campus.

Can family and friends join me?
Of course! Choosing a university is a big decision, so we’d absolutely encourage anyone who is supporting you to get involved and join you on the Open Day.
Please be aware that we may need to limit the number of additional guests who accompany you to certain sessions on the day.
Do you have support for students with a disability?
You can let us know about your access requirements when you book onto our Open Days. We’ll then work with you to do everything we can to support you. You will also be able to have a one-to-one appointment with our disability and wellbeing team on the day.
If you would like to check our campus for its accessibility, we have worked closely with AccessAble (the leading provider of access information for disabled people in the UK) to produce an assessment of our campus and facilities. This work has provided detailed information about our access; find out more about their assessment of our campus and facilities.
Please contact disability and learner support for study related support.
Health and safety
In line with the latest government guidance, masks are not mandatory on campus. However, you are welcome to wear one if you feel more comfortable doing so. You will also find sanitisation points around our campuses, which you are welcome to use.
If you develop Covid-19 symptoms
If you have booked a place on our Open Day but develop Covid-19 symptoms before you are due to visit, please stay at home and do not visit our campus. Symptoms of Covid-19 can be found on the NHS website.
