If you are considering studying for your master’s degree and want to know more about the pathways open to you, or have your place confirmed and have questions that you need to be answered by our friendly recruitment team, our Postgraduate Information Afternoon is a great place to find all the information that you will need. This on-campus event will take place on Wednesday 8 December between 13:00 and 16:30.

The event will include sessions on:

  • An overview of postgraduate study at the University of Salford and the support you can receive.
  • The benefits of studying for a master’s degree.
  • What Salford can do for you both as a student and beyond.

You will also get the opportunity to interact with some of our master’s community and ask any questions you might have.

Arrival and Check-in

To ensure you are able to attend the sections of the event that interest you, we will have two arrival and check-in times. The first will be for those wishing to start the event with a campus tour before attending the sessions, the second for those who may have seen the campus previously, and only wish to attend the presentations.

Check-in 1: Campus Tour

Check-in for the campus tour will take place from 12:45 onwards in the Lady Hale Building on Peel Park campus, and will usually last around 45 minutes to 1 hour. For those of you interested in seeing the Frederick Road or MediaCity campuses, there will be coaches available to transport you. Don't worry if you're not sure which campus is relevant to you - we'll let you know when you arrive.

Check-in 2: Postgraduate Information Afternoon

Check-in for the Information Afternoon will take place from 14:00 onwards in the Lady Hale Building on Peel Park campus. Students who have already checked in for the tour will not need to do so again.

Schedule

Please find a full description of today's sessions below. Each session will be presented live on campus and offer you the chance to ask any questions you have following the presentation.

How to find us

No matter whether you're travelling to Salford by train, bus, car, tram or plane, reaching us couldn't be easier, with transport links connecting our campuses to Manchester city centre and beyond.

Check out our travel page for more detail.

Health and Safety on Campus

On-campus

As part of our safety measures, we would ask that all visitors, staff and students maintain a distance of 1m throughout the event. Rooms and presentations have been set up on this basis, and we may therefore restrict numbers for some sessions. We will have sanitisation points near building entrances, regular cleaning of high-touch points and plenty of signage to remind everyone of these guidelines

Face coverings

Following the recent Government announcement, we are requiring all visitors, students and staff to wear a face covering when moving around inside our buildings on campus, in corridors and in circulation spaces, unless exempt. You can find out more about circumstances where people may not be able to wear a face covering here.

Your risk factors

Before coming onto campus, please consider if you fall into a higher risk category for Covid-19. We have provided a link here that provides some further information on who would be considered a higher risk. Whilst we're taking measures to ensure the safety of everyone on campus, if you fall into one or more of these categories, please consider whether it is suitable for you to come along to this event.

If you develop Covid-19 symptoms

If you have booked a place but develop Covid-19 symptoms before you are due to visit, please stay at home and do not visit our campus. Symptoms of Covid-19 can be found here.
