Biography
I am a Lecturer in Accounting at the University of Salford, where I have worked since 2016. Prior to joining Salford Business School, I taught Management Accounting at Manchester Metropolitan University while completing my PhD in Accounting at Warwick Business School.
My teaching experience spans undergraduate and postgraduate accounting programmes, with particular expertise in management accounting, business accounting, and accounting information systems. Alongside teaching and research, I have held a range of academic leadership roles, including Programme Leader for Business Management with Finance, Accounting and Finance, and Business and Financial Management.
My research explores the role of accounting in shaping organisational, social, and political life. I am particularly interested in critical accounting, accountability, accounting education, financial literacy and wellbeing, sustainability, and the everyday practices through which accounting influences behaviour, decision-making, and governance. Drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives, my work seeks to understand accounting not simply as a technical practice, but as a mechanism that helps shape individuals, organisations, and society.
