Biography
Nathan Topping is a Lecturer in Data Science, contributing teaching and module leadership across multiple modules on the MSc Data Science and MSc Internet of Things with Data Science programmes. He is also Programme Lead for the DipHE Data Science programme, delivered as part of the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology. His teaching covers a broad range of topics including databases, big data tools, data visualisation, statistics, and machine learning. Drawing on a professional background as a Data Scientist, he brings real-world industry insight into the classroom, with a focus on applied learning.
Areas of Research
Current research interests span AI fairness and bias mitigation, medical data mining, and the applications of generative AI.
