Biography
I am a nutritional biochemist with an interest in how and why we age. Previously I have worked for the Northern Ireland Centre for Diet and Health. I have also worked as an academic at several UK universities and spent several years as a secondary school teacher. I came to Salford in 2023 and I am programme leader of the BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry degree.
Areas of Research
My research interests centre on how and why organisms age. I construct mathematical models of biological systems and explore how these systems are disrupted by ageing. I then use the models to better appreciate how nutrition can be used to improve healthspan.
