Dr Lucy Barton
School of Science, Engineering & Environment
Current positions
Research Fellow
Biography
Dr Lucy Barton AMIOA was awarded a BEng in Audio Acoustics in 2017, followed by a PhD in Vibroacoustic Engineering in 2023, both from the University of Salford.
She remains at the University of Salford as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Acoustic Metrology for Building Acoustics as part of the Future Homes Project Acoustic Team, and as an Industrial Collaboration Fellow in the Acoustic Research Centre.
Her current research focuses on measuring the acoustic properties of low carbon emission technology for domestic infrastructure, including air source heat pumps, wind turbines, vacuum insulated glazing, and smart ventilation systems, and on in-Situ Transfer Path Analysis for industrial applications.
She is contributing work on air source heat pump noise to the IEA HPT Annex 63 European Consortium.
Her main research interests include structure-borne noise, transfer path analysis, and radiated noise prediction.
Areas of Research
Transfer Path Analysis, Structure-borne Sound, Vibroacoustics, Radiated Noise Prediction, Source Characterisation, Modal Analysis, Building Acoustics.
