Lecturer in Technical Theatre

BIOGRAPHY

I am a lighting designer, stage manager and production manager for theatre. I recently completed my PhD at the University of Leeds entitled The Language of Light: How Lighting Designers Use Language and Exercise Agency in Creative Collaboration. I trained in stage management and technical theatre at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and also hold an MRes degree from University of Leeds and a BA in theatre from the University of Mary Washington.

Stage/production management and production skills across all years on the BA Hons Technical Theatre

Research Interests

Lighting design pedagogy; technical rehearsals; discourse analysis; creativity and collaboration; early lighting designers in the UK (1950s to 1960s); backstage spaces, places and processes
