Biography
Having worked as a live and sometimes studio sound engineer for 15 years, I decided to find out about the 'hows and whys' of the equipment I was operating. I first came to the School of Acoustics and Electronic Engineering (as it was then known) in 1996 as an undergraduate, enrolling on the BSc (Hons) in Audio Technology. Since graduating in 1999, I studied towards a PhD in the research area of spatial audio. More specifically, investigating objective methods of assessing the spatial capabilities of surround sound systems as well as developing spatializing techniques for multichannel musical synthesis. I was awarded my PhD in 2006 and have been working as a lecturer since then.
