Biography

I am an MPhil researcher in Civil Engineering at the University of Salford, specialising in the behaviour and durability of FRP-strengthened concrete structures. My research combines experimental investigation and numerical modelling to study bond-slip behaviour and crack propagation of concrete. My broader research interests include reinforced concrete structures, FRP strengthening systems, structural mechanics, finite element modelling, fracture mechanics, concrete materials, and sustainable structural engineering.

I hold both BSc and MSc degrees in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering) and have authored peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers in structural analysis and computational mechanics. I have also contributed to the co-authorship of a textbook on reinforced concrete structural design.

Alongside my academic work, I have more than ten years of professional experience in the concrete and construction industry. My experience includes managing precast concrete production, research and development, quality control, and civil engineering projects, as well as supervising and delivering reinforced concrete and steel multi-storey buildings. This combination of academic research and industry experience enables me to develop practical, evidence-based solutions that enhance the safety, durability, and sustainability of civil infrastructure.

Areas of Research

My research interests include reinforced concrete structures, FRP strengthening systems, structural mechanics, finite element analysis and modelling, fracture mechanics, concrete materials, and sustainable structural engineering. I am particularly interested in developing practical and research-informed solutions that enhance the safety, durability, and sustainability of civil infrastructure.

Teaching

My teaching and learning experience combines academic support with industry-based knowledge transfer. During my undergraduate studies, I served as a Teaching Assistant for Reinforced Concrete Design and Concrete Laboratory courses, supporting practical sessions and assisting students with laboratory activities.
