I have been an Undergraduate year tutor, MSc Programme leader in Sustainable Development, Energy and Management, Academic Liaison officer for the School to the GMA IMechE, and supervisor to Final year, MSc dissertation and PhD students.
I am currently focused on delivering much of the Engineering Thermodynamics to all levels and contributing to Fluid Mechanics, Industrial Management, Building Services and Engineering Finance modules.
My main research interests are energy related and in particular renewable energies.
Areas of research
Sustainability, Renewable Energy, Thermodynamics, Solar Collectors
I teach a range of subjects to all levels. Currently my portfolio includes:
- Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics at levels 4,5 and 6
- Sustainability at level 7
- Information Technology at level 3
- Building services at level 5
- Engineering Finance at level 5
My research areas are currently in Renewable energy. I have also been actively involved in Internal Engine research in particular variable geometry Turbocharging on Diesel engines and variable valve timing system design.
I have experience of supervising PhD students and numerous MSc dissertations. Managed an embryonic research fund for novel pump design and produced twenty four conference and Journal papers. I am also a reviewer for the Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Journal of Multi-physics and I was a paper reviewer for Environ2006 (an international conference).
