Biography
Dr. Eman Nashnush is a Teaching Fellow of Computer Science at the University of Salford.
She gained a first class BSc (Hons)/MSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Tripoli University in 2001 and 2009. She also holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Salford (Informatics Research Centre) in Data Mining, gained in 2015. Her thesis title was “Development of New Cost-Sensitive Bayesian Network Learning Algorithms”. She has introduced new types of algorithms that consider the costs of machine prediction errors. In 2016 she worked as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) associate and a data scientist between Salford University and a car finance brokerage company; she applied data mining methods for optimizing online car finance brokerage.
She was a very experienced Lecturer at Tripoli University with a demonstrated track record in Research, Teaching and Administration over a period of 19 years. She is a very active researcher and she published her papers in different journals/conferences such as the Integrated Computer-Aided Engineering Journal, the Expert Systems Journal, and at the Advances in Soft Computing and Data Mining conference.
Eman has a deep understanding of machine learning and data mining algorithms. She is experienced in teaching and supervising some data mining projects. At Salford University, she teaches many modules at different levels (such as Inside Computer Systems, Computer Systems, Database Systems, Programming languages, Linux, Data Theory, Data Warehouse) and supervises some FYP and MSc projects.
