Biography
With a first career in marketing, working for media owners such as ITV, Emap and Bauer Media and the advertising agency, Leo Burnett; I led successful marketing teams and held board level marketing roles and worked as a marketing consultant.
After undertaking a range of professional qualifications whilst in marketing, I retrained for a second career in education and joined the University of Lancashire in 2005 as a lecturer and progressed through roles in other institutions as Programme Leader, Head of Marketing Programmes, Director of Professional and Work Based Programmes and Dean of Education. I joined Salford in 2019 as Associate Dean Academic (Quality and Enhancement) and I am now Deputy Dean of Salford Business School. I am a Senior Fellow of HEA, CMBE, Fellow of CMI and a Director of Salford Professional Development.
I have led on a number of curriculum reviews at both undergraduate and postgraduate level across business school disciplines with a focus on employability and inclusivity. I have experience of the development of partnerships in both the UK and internationally. I am passionate about embedding active and collaborative pedagogies, authentic assessment practices and digital learning innovations that enhance student engagement and employability.
I sit on a range of institutional committees and currently chair the University’s Skills Committee and I am a member of CABS EDI Committee.
