Biography
20+ years’ experience of negotiating and delivering industrial partnerships in acoustics, leading a team of expert acousticians working on research and industrial contracts. Claire leads the National Institute for Airborne Acoustic Metrology, which is responsible for dissemination of airborne acoustic quantities in the UK (devolved from NPL and approved by DSIT in 2022) and the top of the metrology pyramid for UK airborne acoustics. Established and responsible for ISO/IEC 17025 UKAS accreditation covering acoustic calibration, sound power measurements and testing for the construction industry. Delivers measurement contracts in many areas of acoustics including hearing protection, speech intelligibility, defence, metrology, noise emissions of small machines and domestic appliances.
