Biography
Brendan Fletcher works as an artist and writer. He is engaged in an abstract painting practice. Recent exhibitions include, Homer’s Ghost, PAPER Gallery, Manchester, Fully Awake 5.6, Freelands Foundation, London, Inner-Landscapes, Hilbertraum, Berlin and Inter-section, Market Gallery, Huddersfield (all 2019).
Recent papers include: Albert Irvin, Abstraction and Semiosis, Royal West of England Academy, Bristol (2018) and Painting, Arts School and Class Struggle, Royal Academy of Arts (2017).
Previous exhibitions include: Pre Fab, Leeds Metropolitan University Gallery (2012), Conversations in Painting, Chapman Gallery, Salford (2010), Nice to Meet You, Mark Moore Gallery, Santa Monica, California, (November 2005), Terrain: Contemporary British Abstraction, Museum of Non-Conformist Art, St Petersburg, 9 September 2004), and Chorus a site specific installation/soundscape for Gorton Monastery, Manchester in collaboration with American composer Kevin Malone, (May 2004).
