Biography
Billy works in the areas of digital film, sound and music as a filmmaker and musician. He produces, directs, edits and sound designs independent films. Billy’s short film Keith’s Crash (Billy Glew, 2023) was selected for Lancaster International Film Festival 2024. He recently completed sound design and mixing for independent feature film Goodwin’s Island (Erik Knudsen, 2024) which is currently showing at cinemas and on Amazon Prime.
He recorded and mixed sound for feature film True Calling (Erik Knudsen, 2021) which was selected for two international festivals, the Toronto Independent Film Festival and the Lebanon Independent Film Festival. Billy's PhD was practice-research based and focused on dream sequences in film. The films made as part of his PhD research were selected for several independent international film festivals. Billy’s day job is teaching film sound at University of Salford. He also runs a sound / film / rehearsal studio based in West Yorkshire.
