Biography
Asmaa Hassan is a PhD researcher in Computer Science at the University of Salford, working on artificial intelligence, deep learning, and computer vision for agricultural applications. Her doctoral research focuses on the automated detection and classification of plant diseases and nutrient deficiencies from leaf imagery, with a particular interest in distinguishing the visually similar symptoms produced by biotic and abiotic plant stress.
She holds an MSc in Data Science from the University of Salford and an MSc in E-Learning Technology from the University of Hertfordshire, both awarded with Distinction, along with a BSc in Computer Engineering from Sudan University of Science and Technology.
Her research interests span deep learning, image classification, plant health diagnosis, model efficiency, and the development of practical AI systems for precision agriculture.
