University of Salford Bruntwood Stage Takeover: Line-up announced

Categories: School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology

The University of Salford Bruntwood Stage Takeover, from Monday 12-Friday 16 July 2021, will bring you new material by up-and-coming musicians, singers, comedians and award-winning graduates from The School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology.

“It’s been a pleasure to produce this event in collaboration with HOME, a little challenging due to restrictions, but next week, we’ll be Live at Last,” said the New Adelphi Theatre’s Ash Cox who is producing the event. “It’s been such a difficult time for the arts and it’s been humbling to see how the Manchester and Salford creative communities have worked together to bring such a vibrant, safe and celebratory series of events to our two cities this summer.”

We’re so proud to be highlighting some of talent grown here in Salford, from musicians to comedians, to technicians to content creators and photographers. To be able to collaborate with such a broad range of University of Salford creatives during the development of this project has been a real highlight of my four years here at the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology and we can’t wait to share it with you all next week.”

‘Live at Last’ is a mixed bill programme produced by New Adelphi Theatre in collaboration with our friends at HOME. Join us over five evenings and be the first to see the future faces of music and performance.

Tim France, Director of Performance, Music, English & Dance, said: “Celebrating our partnership with HOME, Homeground has opened its doors to our students for a week of performances. This isn’t a year our students should forget as they have worked so hard to create some amazing work. We have been very fortunate with the professional standard of our facilities and quality of our teaching staff, both have supported our students through the various challenges this academic year. It will be a lovely week to listen and share their artistry and I couldn’t be more proud of what they have achieved.”

The event is produced by the New Adelphi Theatre and will feature students, alumni and staff – as performers, production assistants, technical support and photographers.

Final year Media and Performance student Charlotte Cropper is helping to produce the events and said: “I'm so excited to be working on the Live at Last performances and championing our amazing acts and bands. Over the week, I'll be making sure our lovely artists are well looked after on-site, as well as hosting a performance takeover on the New Adelphi Theatre and HOME's Instagram to highlight each night of great entertainment.”
