Salford Student wins the 2020 Structural Concrete competition
Salford graduate Daniel Dickinson has won the Concrete Centre 2020 student design competition for his design of a high-rise residential building in a waterside redevelopment area.
Daniel spent 3 years studying on our undergraduate BEng(Hons) Civil Engineering degree and following his success with the Concrete Centre’s design competition is now undertaking further Post Graduate Study on our MSc Structural Engineering Programme.
When asked about his success, Daniel said: "I've really enjoyed my time at Salford, I particularly love that it's a very hands on and practical course and that I'm being taught by real engineers who have actually designed buildings around the world before joining academia”.
When asked about Daniel’s success his lecturer Neil Currie said: “Daniel is an outstanding student and decided to enter the group competition as an individual and his accomplishments are a testament to his hard work. At Salford we take great pride in having Chartered Engineers from the institution Of Structural Engineers and Institution Of Civil Engineers design and deliver our courses to help make our graduates industry ready”.
