A new scholarship for talented students from low-income backgrounds who want to study a built environment degree are now available.

Salford has collaborated with Intelligent FS; an organisation with over 60 years’ experience in the construction industry. The University introduces the Intelligent FS Scholarships to support talented students who are completing a built environment degree.

Two Intelligent FS Scholarships are on offer for the 2022/23 academic year - to support one Construction Project Management student and one Quantity Surveying student from low-income backgrounds. The successful applicants will receive a non-repayable financial award during their undergraduate studies; they will also have the opportunity to connect with leading industry experts at Intelligent FS.

Rob Williams at Intelligent FS, said: “It’s an honour to be able to support the next generation of Construction experts with this small gesture and we are very proud to be working with Salford University to enable this.”

Nicky Harris, Lecturer in Construction Management, added: “It’s an opportunity for students to see what they are learning in the real life workplace. It allows them to put theory into practice, as well as enhancing collaboration skills.

“It can be quite inspirational too for our students and makes a real difference to their lives.”

The inaugural recipients of the Intelligent FS Scholarships will be awarded in November 2022.
