Salford alumni achievements recognised in New Year Honours
The New Year Honours list recognises the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom.
A number of University of Salford alumni received honours, including:
BEM - Warren Baxter
Warren is a physiotherapist, based at Merseycare NHS Foundation Trust. He studied physiotherapy at the University of Salford from 2010 – 2014 and was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the NHS during the Covid-19 crisis.
MBE - Christine Pearson
Christine is Director of Nursing for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and has been awarded an MBE for services to nursing, particularly during the Covid-19 crisis. She studied an MSc in Action Learning & Research with Salford Business School, leaving in 2004.
MBE - Peter Barham
Peter manages the UK’s Seabed User and Developer Group (SUDG). He was awarded an MBE for services to the maritime sector. He studied an MSc here at the University of Salford, graduating in 1985.
