The University of Salford is delighted to say that four of our alumni have been named in The 2025 Aiir Radio Academy 30 Under 30.

The annual list shines a light on the brightest young talents working in radio and audio and it is a prestigious accolade for those working in the industry.

Salford’s representatives in the 2025 class are Adam Eland, Flora Morsman, Priya Matharu and Sam Morris.

Adam is a 2018 BA Journalism (Broadcast) graduate who has worked at the BBC ever since graduating. Now based in London, he is part of the BBC Speech Digital Team, commissioning podcasts for the national broadcaster.

He said: “I am really honoured to be named in the Radio Academy’s 30 Under 30 for 2025! A huge thank you to the Academy for the recognition, and to everyone at the BBC that has supported and trusted me with opportunities to grow since walking through the door at 20 years old.”

Flora is a 2024 BA Radio and Television Production graduate who is a Producer at Bauer Media Group and a presenter at Hits Radio Pride.

She said: “I am so delighted to be a part of The Radio Academy class of 2025 for 30 under 30. It’s been a wild journey so far in my radio career and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.

“Congratulations to everyone who made it on the list, such an honour to be amongst such a talented bunch of individuals.”

Priya Matharu is a presenter for Switch Radio in Birmingham and a freelance producer for BBC Audio. She graduated from our BA Journalism (Broadcast) programme in 2019.

She said: “I’m really excited and grateful to be part of the 30 Under 30 list this year. It means a lot to receive that at this stage in my career, especially after growing through student radio, community radio, Bauer and the BBC.

“I’ve learnt so much along the way and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead and what I can bring to the industry.”

Sam Morris, is a podcast producer, presenter and an academic here at the University of Salford. He also graduated from our BA Journalism (Broadcast) programme, back in 2017.

The list has been announced every year since 2011 and has previously spotlighted names such as national broadcasters Emma Barnett and Ben Sheppard.

Dixi Stewart, Managing Director of The Radio Academy, said: “It's an honour to announce The Aiir Radio Academy 30 Under 30 for 2025. This is one of the most prestigious accolades in the audio industry and since its launch, it's become an accurate predictor of career success.”

Our four alumni beat off competition from hundreds of fellow radio and audio specialists, and will receive a ticket to next year's Radio Academy Festival and The Radio Academy's Audio and Radio Industry Awards in May.
