For Programme Administrator Caroline Davies, the University of Salford has been more than a workplace - it’s been a community for over three decades. Joining the University at just 18 years old, Caroline will celebrate an incredible 34 years of service this October. Her journey wouldn’t have been made possible without her, supportive colleagues and endless opportunities to learn and grow.

A career built on community

Over the years, Caroline has grown in her profession through the support of her colleagues, a collective approach which has built her confidence and capability over time. That sense of working together has been a constant motivator and a key reason why she’s chosen to stay at Salford for so long.

When asking Caroline what she enjoys most about working at the University, and the answer is simple: the people. “There’s always a friendly face, a supportive word, or a gesture of encouragement to be found, no matter where you are or whom you’re with. From senior managers to colleagues, everyone is approachable and willing to lend an ear,” she said. Whether she’s talking through a challenge or testing out a new idea, Caroline knows she’ll receive “thoughtful advice and genuine support.”

Teamwork that makes a difference

The power of teamwork became especially clear during significant periods of transition over her career.
