Fancy a chance of winning a £100 Amazon Voucher?
Return one or more of your library books between 05/05 - 26/05 for a chance to win a £100 Amazon voucher. Everyone who returns their books during this period will be automatically entered into the prize draw. One lucky winner will be chosen at random and contacted via their student email 28/05, so keep an eye out on your Salford email account in case you win big!
Drop your book off at any returns bin in Clifford Whitworth, Media City, Allerton or to a member of library staff and you will be automatically enrolled to the competition - simple.

Improving Your Library
Your Library is being enhanced to improve your study experience, with changes shaped by student feedback. Updates include more study spaces, improved layout and wayfinding, flexible areas for both group and independent work, and a refreshed leisure reading collection.
Work will take place from May to September, and while some areas may be temporarily unavailable, the library will remain open with key services continuing. Staff support, borrowing, and access to resources will still be available, helping you make the most of the library while improvements are underway.

Study Glow-Up Packs

At Clifford Whitworth Library, we will be giving away Study Glow-Up Packs from 27/04/26 to 01/05/26. These packs include a range of items such as snacks, fruit, mindful activities, and a free Sports Centre day pass to support your wellbeing during assessment season.
You can collect a pack from the main reception of Clifford Whitworth Library from 12pm on the dates above. Please note that availability is limited and packs will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Good luck with assessments, you've got this!
Studying over the Easter break? Your library has you covered

Clifford Whitworth Library is open 24/7 as usual this Good Friday (03/04) and Easter Monday (06/04), so you can keep the momentum going—whatever your study style.
🔑 Access reminder:
From 03/04-06/04 (covering the full weekend + bank holidays), you’ll need your student ID to get in—Blackboard and email won’t be accepted.
⚠️ A few changes to services:
Some services will be taking a short break during this time:
- Extended laptop loans
- Click & Collect
- Tech Bar
- Reduced staff support

🚪 Bank holiday closures:
The Cube, Allerton, and MediaCity libraries will be closed on the bank holidays, and re-open as usual on 07/04. Check out the opening times.

Beware of Charity Scammers

We have been informed of scammers who claim to be collecting money for charity operating around campus. If you are approached, we advise you not to give out your personal details or money. Fundraising is only allowed on the ground floor at Library and Students’ Union–approved stalls.
If you’re approached for donations anywhere else, please report to a member of staff. Thank you.
Keep yourself safe by:
- Waiting and looking up the organisation online later to check it's legitimate if you are interested in donating. Only donate to stalls that are present in the Ground Floor of the Library - Please ask a staff member if you are unsure.
- Report the incident to our Security team through the campus security webpage below if you are made to feel uncomfortable.

Library winter break service update
From Saturday 20 December – Monday 5 January, Clifford Whitworth will be offering reduced operating hours and service with some closure due to the upcoming winter break.
The Cube, Allerton, and MediaCity library spaces will close for winter break on Wednesday 24 December and reopen on Monday 5 January with their usual opening times.
