The Lancashire and Yorkshire Railways Collection contains hand-drawn engineering drawings from 1834 to 1894. 

The drawings include those signed off by Major William Dransfield, George Stephenson, Joseph Locke, Sam Warburton, and Patrick Farrell. There are also technical drawings for the office buildings based in Salford.

The collection can be used for engineering and architecture students interested in the construction of historical bridges, and art and design students.
